Paige struggled despairatly to get free. Her hand and legs were tied, her mouth had a rag in it with another piece of cloth tied around her head to keep it on, and a black sack was over her head. Paige was furious, someone had come into her chambers in the middle of the night and knocked her unconcious. When she awoke she was like this and apparently in the back of a wagon. "Mmmmm!!!!!!!", she tried to scream as best she could and when a hand grabbed her arm she gave a sorta growl and jerked away. The hand still grabbed hold of her and held her up against the persons body. She could tell it was a man by the way he held her and his voice only confermed it. "If you make another noise I'm gonna slit your throat myself", he said his voice deep and gravely. His hand then went over her mouth and she realized that the wagon was slowing down. "Understand", he said squeezing her arm harder with his huge hand. Nodding she wondered how could this have happened.
Dante woke from where he lay on his cot in the barracks. He had a villa of his own but he usually spend his nights in the barracks. Getting up he looked to the window and found that the sun had not yet risen. Perfect. Snapping his fingers once he signaled to Krator, his Sabored Bearod that slept on the floor next to his bed, and instantly the animal rose and followed his master. Dante was only wore his lower garments and one could see his muscular frame that had tattoos and scars all over it giving him a tough warrior look. Together they went from the sleeping quarters to the armory and Dante put on his Royal Guard uniform. Once his was on he grabbed hold of Krator and held him still as he put on the animals light armor as well. Krator was one of the few Sabored Bearod that wore armor, wearing armor signified that he was one of the best of the bests and he was a guard animal for the Royal Family. "Good boy", Dante said giving Krator a loving pat and rub behind the ear. In turn Krator grabbed hold of Dante's arm and affectionatly held it in his mouth as he gave what Dante called a 'love growl'.
The sun was still hidden but the greying sky told Rion that the morning sunrise was not far off. She had been up for about thirty minutes now and had been on the game trail for about ten minutes. Deer were no where in sight but rabbit was ever present. The slight quiver of the brush ahead of her made her eyes star intently in search of any prey. The brownish grey fur of a rabbit that hid under it was slowly starting to show more and more. Raising her bow, with an arrow already noched in, she took aim and waited for the perfect shot.
Michael was slumped over on Recker's back, whom was still moving. Both were worn out but Recker was intent on getting his wounded companion to saftey. Their trail of blood was obvious the only one who wasn't wounded was Malice, the beautiful marcon that was licking one of Mikes wounds, trying to be motherly. Not able to go any further Recker stopped and plopped onto dusty ground underneath a rocky overhang. At the sudden stop of movement Mike slowly came back to counciousness. "Uhhhh", he moaned slidding off of Recker and onto the ground. Malice stopping herself from falling off and to the ground by opening her wings and fluttering gently to the ground. "I hate those guys", Mike said as he reached into his pack so he could bandage up some of his major wounds.
